How To Invest In Ukrainian Orphans
Here are two special ways to invest in orphans in Ukraine:
1) Help send VANYA - an 18 year old post-orphanage young man - to school for computerized graphic design. Vanya is gifted, motivated and has been a faithful participant in Operation Lazarus since Andy and Jaimeee first met him at summer camp while he still lived at the government orphanage in Sevastopol. This training will give him a viable career skill and he will also work with Operation Lazarus while going to school. His tuition cost for the 10 month program will be $700. His monthly expenses will be $100 - which he will have to “earn” by working part-time for Operation Lazarus - our own version of a “work-study” grant. And he has to have a laptop computer to be in the program. If someone has a lightly used later model laptop that has sufficient speed and memory for graphics software, that would be a fantastic donation to help Vanya. Or we can purchase a suitable one for around $700.

2) Help sponsor a Ukrainian Christian widow named LUDA, who wants to serve as a volunteer at the orphan summer camp. Each volunteer must pay for their own room and board while serving at the camp. Total amount needed for transportation, room and board is $140. That amount is more than the monthly government pension she lives on, which is why the amount seems like an impossible dream for her. Operation Lazarus has been trying to recruit the involvement of the local church in Ukraine in their work with orphans and this will be a great example to the church that a widow is able trust God for the finances to serve in a local missions project. The money will be given through her local church without revealing where it came from, as we are aware that she has been praying and believing God for the money so she can minister to the orphans.
